      July 4, 1925 - March 17, 2012

      Frank Stanley Stafford, Jr. passed away Saturday, March 17 in Washington, Utah. He was 86.

      Born July 4, 1925 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Frank and Juanyta Stafford. He graduated from Tech High School in Indianapolis in1943, Indiana University with degrees in history and speech in 1950, then a Master’s in education in 1951. He obtained a Master’s in public health and education in 1958 from Cal-Berkley and certificate in archaeology in 1981 from UCLA.

      Mr. Stafford was a teacher, who coached tennis and basketball from 1951 to 1957. He became director of health ed and welfare for L.A. County in California from 1958 to 1979. He enjoyed sports, travel, archaeology, gardening and music, especially big band and playing piano.

      Survivors include his companion, Norma, daughters, Kristi Teeple of Alisa Viejo, California and Sandy (Michael) Toppen of Huntington Beach, grandchildren, Scott Teeple and Bailey (Ryan) Price and great-grandchildren, Trey and Brady Price.

      Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM Saturday at Burkhart Funeral Home, 300 S. Grant Avenue, Crawfordsville. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery Grant Ave.
