  [S1237] Obituary of Mabel P. ABSHIRE. Mabel P. Abshire MT. HOPE - Mrs. Mabel Perry Abshire, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 14, at 11:55 p.m., in a Hilltop care center following a long illness. Born May 23, 1903, at Mt. Hope, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Doshia White Perry. Mrs. Abshire was a former employee of the Kroger Company, member of the Mt. Hope Christian Church and the Winola Chapter No. 59 Order of the Easter Star at Mt. Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Abshire in 1944; a son, Ashby Abshire in 1979; seven brothers and four sisters. Survivors include two sons, Charles J. (Jim) Abshire of Uniontown, Ohio and Lewis R. (Tommy) Abshire of Pontiac [sic], Md; two daughters, Muriel Deal and Hazel Kent, both of Mt. Hope; a sister, Sally Davis of Athens, Ga.; 12 grand-children and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Hope with the Rev. Larry E. Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in the High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill. Friends may call Wednesday from noon until time of the services. Any donations of sympathy may be made to the Mt. Hope Christian Church or the Mt. Hope Library.
