Peter Yohemas arrived in Edmonton as a young man without much English and was taken in by the Ball family. He was born May 5, 1892 in the Ukraine and married Helen Porter Ball, daughter of John Ball and Eliza Spencer, May 30, 1923. She died in childbirth October 22, 1924. He married Annie Melnyk July 24, 1927.
