On March 27, 2003, Mr. William Senio of Thorsby passed away at the age of 95 years.
He is survived by one son and four daughters, Orest of Thorsby, AB, Patricia of Los Angeles, CA, Ann (Dave) McCluskey of Calgary, AB, Bernadette (Terry) Hayman of Vancouver, BC and Terryll (Mark) Atkinson of Peterborough, ON; eight granchildren, Dean (Lisa), Paul (Kirsten), Brent, Lisa, Joanna, Mark, Gordon and Hillary; and sister-in-law, Sadie Senio of Leduc, AB. Predeceased by his wife, Mary in 1976; two brothers, John and Steve; three sisters, Mary, Anne and Fanne.
Prayers Sunday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Thorsby. Divine Liturgy Monday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Reverend Sylvester Kuzel OSBM officiating with interment in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Thorsby. On February 10, 1991, Mrs. Maria Kuzio of the Salem Manor Nursing Home, Leduc, formerly of Thorsby, passed away at the age of 94 years.
She is survived by six sons, John (Stella) of Sunnybrook, Bill (Myrtle) of Drayton Valley, George (Mary) of Sunnybrook, Steve (Sylvia) of Thorsby, Sam (Donna) of Nanaimo, B.C., Fred (Verna) of Thorsby; three daughters, Ann (Mike) Wurban of Calmar, Kate (Mike) Pankewitz, Millie (Bill) Kuta, all of Thorsby, 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three brothers, John, Bill and Steve Senio, all of Thorsby and one siter, Fannie Sekora of Calmar. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Mike; one infant son, Michael; son, Pete; grandson Brian; granddaughter, Donna and sister, Annie Hrushchak.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Thorsby. Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, February 14, 1991 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Thorsby with the Basilian Fathers, OSBM as the celebrants. Interment to follow in the St. Micholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Thorsby. If friends and relatives so desire, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Survived by three daughters, Jean (Tom) Dublanko, Mary Melik and Walter, all of Edmonton, Emily (Leo) Sharko of Wetaskiwin; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Josie Yanish of Leduc; three brothers, John, Bill and Steve Senio, all of Thorsby; two sisters, Maria Kuzio of Leduc and Fanny Sekora of Calmar. She was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Yanish; second husband, Demtro Hruschak; two sons, John and William; two daughters in infancy and grandson Gordon Melik.
Prayer service will be held on Sunday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, one mile East and two miles north of Calmar where funeral service will be held on Monday, November 16th at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Sylvester Kuzel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. On Saturday November 18, 2023, Elsie Manchak of Calmar Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 100.
Elsie is survived by her loving family. Children; Bernadette (Glenn) Oswald, Marion “Peter” and Marilyn (Allan) Devries, Grandchildren; Mark (Bianca) Karabonik, Sue (Kevin) Christenson, Craig (Cassandra) Karabonik, Michael (Sara) Manchak, Scott (Megan) Devries and, Stephanie (Cody) Vaughan, Great Grandchildren; Kayla (Lewis) Warnock, Nolan Karabonik, Emry Karabonik, Reed Karabonik, Natalie Karabonik, Audrey Manchak, Everett Devries, Step Great Grandchildren, , Keith Christenson; Kendra Christenson; Kamren Christenson as well as many relatives and friends.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Peter in 1997, parents John and Fanny Sikora, brothers Michael and Joseph.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday December 6, 2023, at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Calmar AB, Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Lunch to follow the interment at the Calmar Legion.
