LITWINOWICH, John William October, 1933 - July, 2009 After a brief and extraordinary battle with cancer, John passed away with his love at his side. He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 58 years, Thelma; three sons, Stuart (Rosalie), David (Lynn) and Bruce (Cheryl); three grandchildren, Joshua, Jesse (Candace) and Austin; step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Jennifer; step-great-grandchildren Tyson and Logan. John was predeceased by his parents, William and Katherine; and his sister, Kathleen. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810-34 Avenue, Edmonton. Respecting John's request, a private family funeral will follow on July 31, 2009. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arts and Medicine Program at the Cross Cancer Institute. Kay Litwinowich (Kostyk, nee Ozipko) of Holden and Edmonton passed away to be with her Lord on December 19, 1996, at the age of 89 years.
She leaves to mourn, her husband, William; [snip] step-son, John and his wife, Thelma; [snip] step-grandsons, David and his wife, Leanne, Bruce and his wife, Barbara, and Stuart and his wife, Rosalie; step-great-grandsons, Joshua and Jessie; as well as other family and friends.
A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, December 26 at 7:30 p.m. followed by Funeral Rite on Friday, December 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 10951 - 107 Street, Edmonton. MELNYK - On September 20, Mr. William Melnyk of 9732 75 Avenue passed away, aged 84 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; one son, John of Hamilton, Ontario; six daughters. Mrs. B. (Kate) Letwinowich, Mrs. P. (Anne) Yohemas, Mrs. H. (Eva) Dake, all of Edmonton, Mrs. R. (Helen) Jahelka of Canmore, Mrs. J. (Doris) Darbyshire, Mrs. H. (Lucille) Bucknell, both of Edmonton; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
