      DOBLANKO, Steffie (nee Fedor)

      On October 21, 2014, Steffie Doblanko passed away at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Mike; children Allan (Isabelle), Ken, Eugene (Darlene) and Carol Logan; grandchildren Michelle, Erin, Charles, Adam, Janet, Daniel and Karen, and siblings Pete, Elsie (Paul) Cissell, Alex, Eleanor Shewchuk, Lillian Hook, Wally (Marge), Maxine (Harry) Pichonski, Dennis (Vera) and Eugene (Georgie). Steffie was predeceased by her parents Katie and Fred, son Stanley, son- in-law Michael and in-laws Jean, Maxine, Mike and Ralph.

      Steffie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who brought joy to all who knew her. She put her family first, served her church for more than 50 years, enjoyed her beautiful gardens and flowers, and always welcomed visitors to their family farm. She will be deeply missed, but the life lessons she taught will remain with us forever.

      Prayers Sunday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Hainstock Funeral Home, 9810 – 34 Avenue Edmonton. Funeral Rite Monday, October 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Hwy 19, 3 miles west of Nisku with Reverend Igor Kisil officiating.

      The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of the Leduc Community hospital for their care, support and compassion.

      In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Steffie may be made to St Mary's Russian Orthodox Church or to Black Gold Health Foundation (Palliative Care Unit), 4210-48 St, Leduc AB T9E 5Z3.

      She is survived by her husband of 65 years Paul; daughter Diane (Norman) Osatuik; siblings Pete, Alex, Eleanor Shewchuk, Lillian Hook, Wally (Marge), Maxine (Harry) Pichonski, Dennis (Vera) and Eugene (Georgia).

      Elsie was predeceased by her parents Kate and Fred, sister Steffie Doblanko, in-laws Jean, Maxine, Mike and Ralph.

      Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on January 2, 2014 [sic]. Interment took place at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Edmonton.

      In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Michael’s Parish, Planning for Tomorrow.
