Services for Georgia Proskocil
Georgia Proskocil was born September 29, 1931 at Ord to Charles and Louise Puncochar Svoboda and died July 8, 1988 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord at the age of 56.
Georgia attended grade school and high school in Ord. She worked for a short time at the Valley County Hospital. She married William Proskocil February 5, 1948 in Ord. She lived all her married life in Ord and was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband William of Ord; two sons, William Jr. of Papillion, and Richard of Council Bluffs, IA; a daughter, Holly Proskocil of Ord; one grandchild and two step grandchildren; three brothers, Charles of Kearney, George of Shelton and Leroy of Hastings, one sister Charlotte Stanley of Hastings. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 11, 1988 at the Ord Christian Church with Rev. Harold Brown officiating. The organist was Shirley Karre and the Soloist was Marlys Hackel; Pallbearers were Jim Wray, John Wray, Gene Wray, Charles Hackel, Al Boro, Warren Philbrick. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery. OMAHA — William E. Proskocil, 88, of Omaha, formerly of Ord, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at CHI Lakeside Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Trever Rook will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Mr. Proskocil was born Nov. 12, 1926, at Ord to Joseph and Anna (Tatcy) Proskocil.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William E. and Thanu Proskocil Jr. of Omaha, and Richard L. and Zeta Proskocil of Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly D. and Martin Mortensen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was raised in Ord where he also received his education. As a young man William farmed and delivered milk. He began a career with the State of Nebraska Department of Roads and continued to work there until his retirement.
On Feb. 5, 1948, William was united in marriage to Georgia Svoboda at Ord. The couple spent their entire married life in Ord. Mrs. Proskocil passed away on July 8, 1988. William has made his home in Omaha for the past several years.
William enjoyed carpentry and gardening.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Joe, Tony and Ed.
