  Three generations of the Slavik family won provincial curling championships and represented Alberta - father, Jack, 1942, Macdonald Brier at Quebec City; son, Vince, 1953, Brier at Winnipeg; and grandson, Jerry, 1965, High School Boys at Fredericton. Jack Slavik holds the reputation of being the first Nebraskan who has ever curled in the Macdonald Brier Tankard.
