In February 1945, I married Emily Yanish who lived two miles southeast of Calmar. Emily, born in 1924, is the daughter of Fred and Anne Yanish.

HRUSCHAK, Annie (Yanish)
On November 13, 1987, Mrs. Annie Hruschak (Yanish) of Calmar passed away at the age of 94 years.
Survived by three daughters, Jean (Tom) Dublanko, Mary Melik and Walter, all of Edmonton, Emily (Leo) Sharko of Wetaskiwin; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Josie Yanish of Leduc; three brothers, John, Bill and Steve Senio, all of Thorsby; two sisters, Maria Kuzio of Leduc and Fanny Sekora of Calmar. She was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Yanish; second husband, Demtro Hruschak; two sons, John and William; two daughters in infancy and grandson Gordon Melik.
Prayer service will be held on Sunday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, one mile East and two miles north of Calmar where funeral service will be held on Monday, November 16th at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Sylvester Kuzel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Mrs Emily Sharko of Leduc passed away at the age of 84 years. Emily will be sadly missed by her loving family; daughters: Sylvia Paul, Leona Huber (Michael O'Brien) and Rosie (Roy) Thornton; eleven grandchildren: Tim Paul, Shannon Paul, Ron Huber (Yuko Takahashi), Dawn Huber, Kolbi O'Brien, Evan Will, Lyndon Will, Jenna Will, Taylor Will, Jennifer (Duncan) Smith, Tyler (Krysta) Thornton; two great- grandchildren: Chloe Smith and Georgia Smith; sister, Mary Melik; a special friend and cousin, Elsie Manchak; sister-in-law, Josie Yanish; two brothers-in-law: Manuel (Mary) Sharko and Gene Sharko as well as numerous relatives and friends. Emily was predeceased by her husband Leo Sharko; brothers: John and Bill Yanish; sister: Jean (Tom) Dublanko and two infant sisters. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Chapel, 4802- 47 Avenue, Leduc. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Russo Orthodox Church (West of Highway 2 on Highway 19). Interment to follow in Church Cemetery.
